Population

he population of the Municipality amounts to  79 033 people (as per 31.12.2005), where 49 % is the percentage of males and 51 % of females. Around 20 % of the population live in villages. The Municipality of Vratsa is the biggest settlement in the district and it also holds a share of 37 % of the total number of population – 209 124 people. Around 30 % of it live in Vratsa.  As per the population number index, Vratsa holds the first place both in the district and in the Northwestern-planning region, and 16^th palce countrywide. The population of the municipality amounts to 1 % of the total population of the country, and the one of Vratsa district – to 3%.
